  1. Painting with a Twist in Douglasville will be hosting a family day on Saturday, Nov. 19. Campers Have S'More Fun will combine art, fun, and a great way to spend time together as a family. The location is BYOB and encourages people to bring beverages and snacks. (UNation)
  2. The new Douglas County History Trail is being celebrated this Saturday, Nov. 19. Douglas County Travel & Tourism will be promoting the trail with an event at the Douglas County Museum of History & Art. The trail provides an educational look at historic Douglas County locations dating all the way back to the 1800s. (UNation)
  3. This weekend, the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County will be having its annual Gala and Auction. The theme this year will be "Mosaic: Around the World." The Gala will celebrate the accomplishments of the Arts Council over the past year and raise funds for 2023. The event will include an elegant meal, dancing, live cultural performances, and a silent auction. (Georgia Patch)
  4. Georgia residents may be in greater danger of dying from a stroke due to a recent string of local hospital closings. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health report, more than 4,820 Peach State residents died from a stroke in 2020, including 19 percent that were under age 65. However, with closings of major medical centers like Wellstar Atlanta earlier this month, there are fewer hospitals in the Atlanta metro area to treat these emergencies.
