Wine Tasting Fundraiser To Be Held At Cultural Arts Council

The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/ Douglas County will hold a fundraiser Aug. 16, complete with a wine tasting, music and $20 art.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – “A Tiny Fundraiser’s” last night at the Cultural Arts Council is Aug. 16. In partnership with the CAC Satellite organization, The Douglas County Art Guild, the CAC has been open late every Thursday until 8 p.m.

Aug. 16 will be the closing reception and wine tasting to end this amazing exhibit and fundraiser with refreshments, drinks, demos, activities, door prizes, live music and much more. Come enjoy the fun, relax, and get in touch with your creative side! This exhibit features a room filled with 6x6 artwork by artists all around the community. Each painting will be for sale for only $20. All proceeds raised will help support the CAC's mission and programs throughout the year.

There will also be Gallery Talk by Exhibiting Artists; Origami Activity by Ernie Hendrix; Plein Air Painting by Ken Paradise; and Jewelry Activity by Julia McElhannon.

The concurrent exhibit is "Creative Families," celebrating artists with a creative lineage. This exhibit showcases mothers, daughters, grandparents, great-grandparents and spouses that continue celebrating a creative tradition in their family with the artwork they make.

Exhibiting artists are:

  • Fannie Cogburn Anderson, Cathy & Lily Clodflelter (mother, daughter, & grandmother)
  • Mary Ann Carney, Lee Anne & Jeff Messerschmidt (mother, daughter & husband)
  • Eunice Baldwin, Diane Yancey, Cathy Clemensen, Chloe & Jay Clemensen (Great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, daughter, and son)
  • Natasha & Ivy Stansel (mother & daughter)

CAC Satellite, The Douglas County Art Guild meets the first Tuesday of each month, at St. Julian's Episcopal Church, 5400 Stewart Mill Rd., Douglasville. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. with show and tell and refreshments follow at 7 p.m. with a program and business meeting. Visitors are always welcome!
