Recycle Holiday Wrapping Paper, Christmas Trees

Recycle your holiday items!
As the holidays approach, Gwinnett County reminds residents to remember to give a gift to the environment by recycling.

In addition to your regular recyclables, many holiday items can be collected curbside. You can recycle wrapping paper (no plastic or foil), wrapping paper cores, gift bags (remove string handles), greeting cards, aluminum baking tins, beverage containers (some  plastics, aluminum, and glass), and catalogs, plus most broken down boxes and cardboard containers.

After the holidays, be sure drop off your undecorated live trees from Dec. 26 to Jan. 18 at various locations in Gwinnett. Here are the Duluth locations for tree recycling drop-off:

  • Fire Station 5, 3001 Old Norcross Road
  • Fire Station 7, 3343 Bunten Road
  • Fire Station 19, 3275 N. Berkeley Lake Road
  • *City residents only: 2450 Chattahoochee Drive

Also, please be reminded that Christmas Day and New Year's Day are trash and recycling holidays, so if your normal collection day falls on or after Tuesday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Jan. 1, your collection will be delayed one day.
