Chattapoochee Dog Park Reopens
Grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. April 28. Dog owners reminded to enter Top Dog contest by April 13.

Duluth dogs and their owners are excited because the Chattapoochee Dog Park has reopened.
The city’s first dog park opened for public use in January, but was closed Feb. 27 for sod repair and installation of benches and dog agility equipment. It reopened Sunday, April 1. The dog park features separate areas for small and large dogs and two interactive dog fountains.

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28. The Duluth Parks and Recreation Department and the Duluth Historical Society will host a family- and pet-friendly mini PetFest with vendors, food and fun until 2 p.m.
Chattapoochee Dog Park is located in Rogers Bridge Park near the Chattahoochee River. The park's name was chosen in a citizen contest sponsored by the Duluth Parks and Recreation Department.

The department is looking for the city’s Top Dog to be Mayor of the Chattapoochee Dog Park and preside over the grand opening. Deadline to enter is midnight Friday, April 13. A copy of the official entry form and rules accompanies this article. The top dog will serve a term of one year.
The forms are also available at the Bunten Road Park Activity Building, Duluth City Hall, and the Duluth Historical Society.
