• Macy's to shutter Northlake Mall location (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Two Macy’s stores in Duluth are slated to close as part of the retailer’s broader plan to shutter underperforming locations, including Northlake Mall in Tucker. The company says it’s shifting investment to its strongest stores and luxury brands, which could reshape where Duluth shoppers go for department-store options this year.
   

• UCLA continues run of transfers commitments, adds 3 more (on3.com subscription) — A former UConn cornerback from Duluth, Osiris Gilbert, has committed to transfer to UCLA, giving a local athlete a shot on a major college stage. He’s one of several defensive backs joining the Bruins, after a freshman season with solid production. Duluth football fans may want to follow his progress out west.
