Gather up the children, put on their swimsuits, pile in the car and drive over to the Duluth Town Green for a Summer Kickoff Picnic from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26. Miss Gail and The Jumpin' Jam Band will entertain with a 45-minute interactive show starting at 6:15 p.m. Children can cool off by playing in the city fountain. There will also be face painting, balloons, a bouncy house and a cutest kid swimsuit contest. Food will be available from Chocolate Perks or may be ordered ahead. Proceeds benefit Rainbow Village, a transitional housing program for homeless families and children based in Duluth.
