Eighteen riders participated in the Duluth Merchants Association Light Up Ride Saturday, Oct. 15, to pay for lighting the Living Honorarium. Although the event fell short of its $4,000 goal, DMA Vice President Jim Johnson said the association expects to provide the remaining funds from the membership. The Living Honorarium, which honors active military, living veterans, police officers, firefighters and emergency service providers, was dedicated on the Duluth Town Green on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The ride began at Bunten Road Park in Duluth with a Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Duluth Kiwanis Club. Participants pose next to the Living Honorarium where the ride ended.
