Good News in Dunwoody: 'Dilly' The Puppy On Way to Adoption
Police officer found abandoned dog inside a crate in Dillard's.

DUNWOODY, GA -- It started as a doggone shame but turned into an awesome tail of a tale.
Someone recently put a puppy in a pink crate and left her outside the Dillard's department store at Perimeter Mall.
Fortunately, Dunwoody police Lt. Fidel Espinoza happened to walk by and see the doggy in distress. And he did what anybody would do in this tech-driven world of ours: He put the doggy dilemma on Facebook Live.

"Apparently someone has abandoned this little cutie. It's a female," Espinoza said in the video. "We'd love some suggestions for some names. We're thinking about Dilly."
In an update to the story posted Monday, Dunwoody police said that upon viewing the store's security cameras, Espinoza saw a man enter the store's doorway, place the crate on the floor and leave. The video did not offer a good look at the man's face, police said.

The initial post was viewed more than 7,000 times with people overwhelmingly endorsing "Dilly" as a perfect name for the pup.
The good news is that Dilly, homeless just 24 hours earlier, now has a loving home.
"A few people offered to take the puppy but the first was an assistant manager at Dillard's. She'll take the puppy home and is willing to adopt her," Dunwoody police said on Facebook.
For one Dunwoody dog, 2017 has started off pretty awesome.
