Local Gun Group Committed to Firearms Safety, Advanced Training

A diverse gun group whose goal is to be educated on firearms safety met at the Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range, this week.
David Barton, of Dunwoody, recently formed the Atlanta Shooters and Concealed Carry group. “My intent is to form a community of firearms owners to come together to exchange ideas, tips, and knowledge,” said Barton. “The purpose is to encourage firearms owners - especially those who hold a Georgia Weapons Permit - to become educated in Firearms safety; get advanced training and to practice regularly to maintain a level of proficiency. “

Group members are ages 15-62, and from all political backgrounds.
Barton says the group will continue to meet at gun clubs across the metro area. “It is up to us as a community to promote training and education,” Barton said.
