Mark Your Calendars! Dunwoody Arts & Culture Month Debuts October

Inaugural event offers unique cultural happenings throughout October.

From The City of Dunwoody: Discover the colors of the Dunwoody community during the first-ever Arts & Culture Month, occurring from Monday, October 1, to Wednesday, October 31. The inaugural event brings together the city’s diverse arts, culture, and nature organizations and their members to inspire residents and show off the community’s talents and treasures to the world.

“We are excited to officially announce the first annual Dunwoody Arts & Culture Month filled with over 30 dynamic performances and events created by remarkable talents,” said Katie Williams, Executive Director of Dunwoody CVB. “The unveiling of this new tradition embodies the city’s existing arts and culture community, providing a great opportunity to gain valuable knowledge of the arts. We look forward to hosting everyone throughout the month highlighting the enriching history and all Dunwoody has to offer.”

Throughout the month, Dunwoody residents and visitors will have the opportunity to experience numerous special exhibits and activities celebrating the area’s cultural attractions and commitment to the arts. With more than 30 events, participating organizations will showcase their best talents through exhibits such as: the Sunset Serenade, a Novo Cucina wine tasting featuring food pairings and a live classical music performance at The Donaldson-Bannister Farm hosted by the Dunwoody Preservation Trust; Found Stages Wine and Reading Series, a series of new plays by nationally known playwrights including a meet-and-greet with complimentary wine and light bites, hosted by the Dunwoody Nature Center; and The Ugly Duckling, a modern rendition of the classic kid’s tale in an unforgettable theatrical experience hosted by the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. Additional participating organizations include, the Spruill Center for the Arts, Stage Door Players, Dunwoody Homeowners Association, Dunwoody Fine Arts, and the Chattahoochee Handweavers Guild.

Presented by the Dunwoody Convention and Visitors Bureau, Dunwoody Arts & Culture Month is celebrated in conjunction with National Arts & Humanities Month, giving the city’s community and organizations the attention they deserve. This month offers experiences for the whole family, bringing talents together to inspire event-goers and radiate all Dunwoody has to offer. Guests are encouraged to immerse themselves into select experiences to celebrate the city’s culture and community.
