Paranormal Night at A Novel Idea April 18 in Dunwoody Sure to Thrill

With National Paranormal Day coming up, A Novel Idea's paranormal-themed evening April 18 will spotlight authors Ann Hite and Delilah Dawson

(Patch)

National Paranormal Day is the first Wednesday in May, which means A Novel Idea’s paranormal night April 18 is timely indeed. The Dunwoody event will feature two authors well versed in otherworldly topics: Ann Hite and Delilah Dawson.

Hite’s debut novel, “Ghost On Black Mountain,” won Georgia Author Of The Year and was a Townsend Prize Finalist in 2012. She has since penned a host of personal essays and short stories that have appeared in numerous national anthologies, as well as novels and other works, including “Haints on Black Mountain,” a haunted short story collection released in September. Hite, who lives near Powder Springs, will be in conversation with Dawn Major, a literary fiction writer who has gravitated into the horror, weird fiction and magical realism genre.

Dawson is the author of the New York Times bestsellers “Star Wars: Phasma,” “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” and the Blud series, along with a number of other novels, short stories, comics and other compositions. She will be discussing “The Violence,” in which three generations of women forge a new path through an America torn by a mysterious wave of violence in this “chilling [and] dizzyingly effective” (The New York Times Book Review) novel of revenge, liberation and triumph. Dawson will be in conversation with Brenda Sevcik, co-author with Jeremy Logan of “The Trigger Effect,” a crime novel concerning a pair of 17-year-olds whose deaths “spark a chain reaction, infecting everyone they touched with a plague of misfortune, revealing secrets, perversion, and violence beyond measure.”
