Prep Work Begins For GA-400/I-285 Interchange Project

Landscape-clearing will commence Wednesday and stretch into the night.

DUNWOODY, GA -- Construction crews will soon begin work on the Georgia 400-Interstate 285 interchange.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said prep work by North Perimeter Contractors will begin at the site Wednesday, Feb. 8. Motorists can expect to see workers there both day and night.

“This will be the first visible sign of our progress toward improving traffic flow and safety in this very busy interchange," Albert Welch, Georgia DOT program delivery engineer for major projects, said.

Landscape-clearing will start on the southbound side of Ga. 400 between the Mt. Vernon Highway bridge and Abernathy Road. Workers will then move to Ga. 400 northbound from Abernathy Road to the Mount Vernon Highway bridge.
