2 Accused Of 60+ Car Break-Ins Arrested In DeKalb

Police said the two suspects fled in a stolen vehicle before crashing and running away from the scene. They were ultimately arrested.

EAST ATLANTA — Two people believed to be connected to at least 60 car break-ins across metro Atlanta were arrested in East Atlanta, DeKalb County Police said Thursday.

Police said officers responded around 3 a.m. to a Montage Way apartment complex after receiving reports of suspects attempting to break into multiple vehicles.

When officers arrived, the suspects fled the scene in a stolen vehicle before crashing and running, police said.

With the help of Clarkston and Avondale Estates police officers, the two suspects were arrested and taken into custody without incident, police said. The suspects were not identified.

Police said a stolen gun was recovered during the arrest. The suspects are responsible for more than 60 car break-ins in the metro, including in DeKalb, police said.
