Consmer Product Safety Commission Issues Four Recall Alerts

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the following four recall alerts Thursday:

— Michaels Arts & Crafts Stores' Silver Tree Tealight Candle Holders. The 16-inch-tall candle holders, which are shaped like Christmas trees, are being recalled because the tealight cups are positioned in a way that makes it easy for them to ignite the rest of the display. Michaels reported it knows of five fires and one injury to a consumer related to the products. Next step, call: 800-642-4235.

— Oriental Trading Co.'s yellow, ceramic piggy banks and lion piggy banks, because the paint contains excessive amounts of lead. The banks are about 4 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, and 3.5 inches high. Only yellow banks with black plastic stoppers in the bottoms of the banks are part of the recall. — Kindermusik International is recalling its Zoom Buggy Cars and Dream Pillow Stars because of the potential for wheels on the toys coming off and creating a choking hazard for children. Zoom Buggy Cars are wooden with red and blue plastic wheels and a red handle. The recalled units have a date code of 201005 and a batch ID of APO18829 on the bottom of the cars. Dream Pillow Stars have a wooden star center with red plastic handles, yellow plastic center stars and red, blue and green plastic beads. The recalled units have a date code of 201005 and a batch ID of APO18829 on the bottom of the product. Next step, call: 800-628-5687.

— Bad Boy Enterprises LLC/BB Buggies Inc. is recalling its Classic Buggies off-road utility vehicles because they have a tendency to accelerate unexpectedly. This is an expansion of an earlier recall that now includes all Bad Boy Classic model off-road utility vehicles manufactured from early 2003 through May 2010. The Bad Boy Buggy Classic comes in camouflage patterns, hunter green, red and black colors. The XT model is not included in this recall. Next step, call: 800-638-2772.
