Failed Landing Gear Brings Down Plane At DeKalb Airport

Two people were able to escape the plane without injuries, DeKalb County firefighters said.

CHAMBLEE — The landing gear on a Hawker Beechcraft malfunctioned Thursday afternoon, causing it to go down at the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, fire officials said.

Two people safely escaped the plane uninjured, which went down around 1:15 p.m. on the airport runway, the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department said.

Fire crews stabilized the plane and prepared it to be safely removed from the runway, they said.
