'Power' Star Alix Lapri Arrested In Metro ATL

Alix Lapri, who stars as Effie in "Power," is facing multiple charges after her recent arrest in metro Atlanta.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Alix Lapri, an actress known for her recurring role as Effie in Starz's "Power" and "Power Book 2: Ghost," was recently arrested in DeKalb County.

Jail records showed she was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and third-degree cruelty to children on Aug. 18.

Lapri, whose real name is Alexus Lapri Geier, was released from jail a day later, records showed. The 28-year-old has not publicly commented on the case.

Her "Power" co-star Michael Rainey Jr., who plays Tariq St. Patrick, came to her defense in the comment section of a recent Instagram post from the Shade Room.

"On the real though yall gotta start reading before commenting. She didn't hurt any kids. Yall are hoping that's the case so bad... that's crazy smh," Rainey said, per the Shade Room.

Aside from acting, Lapri is also a songstress known for her covers of popular R&B from the 1990s and 2000s, USA Today reported.

Before reprising her Effie character in Starz's "Power Book 2: Ghost," Lapri was first seen in "Reed Between the Lines," "Red Band Society" and "Downsized," according to her IMDB.

In 2018, she starred as Maloa in "Den of Thieves," alongside actor Gerard Butler and rapper-actor 50 Cent. She then went on to film four episodes for "Power" before following up in the series' sequel.
