'The Nutcracker' Auditions at Lilburn School of Ballet

A local ballet company holds open auditions for extra roles in its annual production of "The Nutcracker."

held open auditions for its November production of "The Nutcracker" on Sept. 8, and nearly 70 young dancers turned out for the opportunity.

In one room, the girls --ages 6 and above -- competed against each other for part in the production as extras, such as soldiers, mice, princesses, dream fairies and more.

By next week, most should know if they landed a role or not.
