The decision leaves the tree’s fate entirely up to the property owner, while some residents and the Johns Creek Historical Society urge the city to strengthen its tree ordinance to better protect significant trees in the future.

• Fulton County in review: Justice system hamstrings county finances (appenmedia.com) — Fulton County decisions in 2025 are set to impact Johns Creek residents through possible 2026 property tax increases and major spending on jail upgrades. District 1 Commissioner Bridget Thorne, whose district includes much of Johns Creek east of GA 400, also weighed in on elections board appointments and new North Fulton health and human services facilities that Johns Creek residents will be able to use.
