60-Year-Old Found Dead In Home Of Apparent Gunshot Wound: Police

A 60-year-old woman was found dead in her home Wednesday with an apparent gunshot wound, police say.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – A 60-year-old woman was found dead in her home Wednesday with an apparent gunshot wound, police say.

Lawrenceville Police were called to a residence at 243 Stone Mountain Street at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday because a woman was found dead inside her home. The resident, Cheryl Ann Loving, was discovered in her home by her brother, who had come to the house to check on her. He observed her lifeless body and called the police.

Police said there were no immediately-apparent signs of forced entry. It appears Loving had been shot. Lawrenceville police investigators, working with the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office and the Gwinnett Medical Examiner’s office, were involved in the investigation throughout the afternoon and into the evening. The investigation continues into the night, with detectives from the Lawrenceville Police Department following up on leads developed during the investigation.
