Fatal Hit-And-Run Driver Arrested: Lawrenceville Police
A 79-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a U-Haul truck while walking along Johnson Road at Daniel Lane, police say.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA β The Lawrenceville Police Department has identified and arrested the man they say is responsible for a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run accident that happened Sept. 10.
On Monday, Leonard Decouto, 51, of Lawrenceville was arrested and charged with first degree vehicular homicide, felony hit and run, and failure to maintain lane.
Tran Hong, 79, of Lawrenceville was walking along Johnson Rd at Daniel Lane when she was struck by a U-Haul truck, Lawrenceville Police reported. When officers arrived on scene, they observed her lying in the roadway. She was non responsive. Witnesses, that observed the accident, stated that a small U-Haul truck was seen driving off the roadway and striking the female.

The truck appeared to have left the roadway prior to collision, according to police. After the collision the truck left the scene. The U-Haul is missing portions of the right front headlight and corner light as a result of the collision. Hong died at the scene.
