Missing 7-Year-Old May Be Illegally With Mom's Boyfriend: Police

Gwinnett County Police are looking for a seven-year-old and her mother's boyfriend, who may have taken illegal custody of the boy.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The Gwinnett County Police Department needs the public’s help in locating a missing seven-year old and his mother's boyfriend, whom authorities say may have taken illegal custody of the boy.

Quamaine Finch is believed to be with Ricardo Medy, 42, who has been charged with interference with custody. Ricardo has previous ties to New Jersey, Florida, and Georgia.

Quamaine Finch’s mother was taken into custody in Fulton County last week for unknown charges. The child was initially left in the care of her boyfriend, Medy, of Lawrenceville. Since that time, the Division of Family and Children’s Services, or DFCS, was awarded custody of Quamaine.

On Nov. 27 at around 7:30 p.m., officers assigned to the East Precinct, along with a member of DFCS, visited Medy's home in the 1200 block of Park Hollow Lane in unincorporated Lawrenceville. Medy refused to answer the door for the officers. During a phone conversation, he said that the child was not at the home. He told the officers that Quamaine was with his biological father at an unknown location.
