- Award-winning pastry chef Newton Shin is opening Basquia Bakery in Gwinnett County. On Friday, the grand opening will be held at the Mega Mart on Pleasant Hill Road in nearby Duluth. Basquia Bakery will sell over 240 items, including pastries, cakes, and breads. They bakery will also do specialty orders and birthday cakes, and will have a full menu of gluten-free options. - Get into the community and enjoy these upcoming city events in Loganville and Grayson! On Dec. 3, Loganville will be hosting Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting in Downtown Loganville. - The annual tree lighting on Dec. 3 in nearby Conyers will help kick off the holiday season. The event will include family-friendly activities, performances by Derrick Monk, local community performers, and even an appearance by Santa Claus! - Despite the shortage of poll workers this year, Gwinnett County election officials worked hard to ensure that Election Day ran smoothly. Gwinnett County held three events to drum up more volunteers to man the polling stations throughout the area. People who worked on Election Day were eligible to earn up to $390. As of Tuesday evening, no major problems had occurred during the voting process in Gwinnett County. (WSB Atlanta)
