Clearview Endoscopy Center in Loganville Gives Residents a Look at Facility

The Center hosted an open house on Tuesday and invited the community to tour the facility in recognition of March being Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

In recognition of March being Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the staff at Clearview Colonoscopy Center in Loganville hosted an open house for local residents to tour the facility and see what it has to offer.

“It is right here in the community so residents don’t have to go to a hospital for a colonoscopy,” said Emily Russell, director of marketing for Clearview Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Steve Ellison, medical director of Clearview Endoscopy Center, was on hand to answer questions. He said if everyone aged 50 or older were screened regularly, 60 percent of deaths from colorectal cancer could be avoided. He and staff gave some information (see accompanying video) on colorectal cancer and how the Clearview Endoscopy Center in Loganville can benefit residents in the community.

Clearview Endoscopy Center is located at 3869 Highway 81, Loganville. According to the website, the center offers the following:

  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Colonoscopy – screening for colorectal cancer, removal of polyps, identify bleeding sites, ablation of bleeding sites, evaluate for causes of diarrhea or change in bowel habits, abnormal findings on other diagnostic test and obtain tissue samples, etc.
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic upper endoscopy - used to diagnosis and treatment of upper intestinal tract diseases, this includes disorders that cause difficulty swallowing and cause upper intestinal tract bleeding.
  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy tube placements (PEG’s) to allow feeding of patients who are unable to maintain adequate nutritional intake.
  • Capsule Endoscopy for evaluation of occult bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract and evaluation of diseases of the small intestines.
  • Specialty care of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) with pH monitoring, evaluation of esophageal motility and ablative therapy of Barrett’s esophagus.
  • Hemorrhoid Banding
  • Management of IBD, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, including infusion therapy with infliximab
  • Management of liver diseases including HCV
