Cops Stop Burglary in Progress; Drag Racing Reported in Walton County

The Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls from Oct. 18-20.

Zone 1

Fraud – Credit card fraud was reported on Rivermist Drive in Rivermist subdivision.
 
Arrest – A subject was arrested on Wood Chase Drive for an outstanding warrant.
 
Zone 3
Juvenile Runaway – On Windfield Drive, runaway reports were made on two juveniles, Kaitlin Wolaver and Chyna Brown Hampton. If you have any information on the whereabouts of these two juveniles, please call 770-266-1514 or 9-1-1.
 
Zone 4
Extra Patrol – Two vehicles were reportedly drag-racing on Jack Glass Rd.
 
Damage to Property – A mailbox was damaged on Shoal Creek Rd.
 
Zone 5
Shoplifting – A female subject allegedly took three bottles of nail polish from the Dollar General on Hwy 11. The subject was described as a white female with red hair, dressed in all black clothing. She reportedly left in a green Ford Explorer headed towards Bold Springs Rd.
 
Trespassing – Walton County deputies responded to a burglary in progress at an address on New Hope Church Rd. A white male subject was found hiding in the woods behind a residence. The subject had been removing scrap and other items from the residence. The residence was a foreclosed home and vacant.
 
Fraud – Fraudulent credit card charges were reported on Bentley Rd.
 
Theft – A wallet was reportedly taken from the checkout counter at Dollar General on Walker Park Drive.
 
Harassing Phone Calls – An ex-employee, who previously worked at a business on N. Cross Lane, was reportedly making threatening phone calls to the business owner. The subject threatened to damage the business property.
 
Chase – A vehicle chase occurred on Hwy 81 @ Claude Brewer Rd., after Walton County deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a headlight violation. A white male subject was apprehended after he ended the pursuit by pulling into his residence on Youth Monroe Rd.
 
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Ozora Church Rd. @ Richmond Place. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. DUI arrests were made during the safety check.
 
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 81 @ Forest Falls Drive. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. Arrests were made in reference to a DUI and felony warrants.
 
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Bay Creek Church Rd. @ Old Zion Church Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests were made.
 
Zone 6
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 20 @ Centerville Rosebud Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. DUI arrests were made during the safety check.
 
Zone 7
Damage – A mailbox was damaged on Guthrie Cemetery Rd.
 
Damage to Property – Landscaping at a residence on High Grove Drive in High Grove subdivision was reportedly damaged by a construction company.
 
Theft – The motor of an A/C unit was reported missing from a residence on Ashley Falls Court. A suspect has been named.
