GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett County firefighters said they rescued four people over the weekend who were trapped in the middle of a river.

The victims told the Gwinnett Swiftwater Rescue team Saturday they were playing in the river at Yellow River Park when the water levels suddenly began to rise. The fire and rescue crews arrived around 8:30 p.m. Four people were trapped on a rock about 15-30 feet from the river bank.

Rescue crews used a rescue throw bag and a rope to send floats to the four victims.
