Free 'Community Care' For Students Offered By Loganville Church

To help kids handle digital learning, a church with campuses in Loganville, Monroe and Bogart is offering free academic support.

LOGANVILLE, GA — A church with campuses in Loganville, Monroe and Bogart is offering free “community care” starting Monday to help students handle digital learning.

Graystone Church’s program, offered Monday through Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., is free to everyone. It offers:

  • Academic support, homework help, tech support and tutoring for students from kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Opportunities for socialization through recreational activities, games and crafts
  • Coffee and adult space for parents
  • Free childcare for children up to 4 years old

Tutoring will be available from certified teachers as well as volunteers who are retired educators, according to children’s pastor Lea McCart of Loganville. Free wifi is also available.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, all guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be followed. Among other things, masks will be worn by all Graystone staff and volunteers, and temperatures will be taken upon arrival.

The program starts Aug. 10. It will be offered at Graystone’s Loganville campus on Mondays and Wednesdays, at its Monroe campus on Tuesdays, and its Bogart campus on Wednesdays.

Graystone Church is a non-denominational Christian church established in 2004. It currently has about 1,300 members.
