- The 42nd Annual Olde Town Conyers Fall Festival takes place this Saturday, Oct. 15. The festival began back in 1980 as a fundraiser for The Depot, where the Conyers Welcome Center now stands, and the Old Jail Museum. This year, more than 100 local vendors plan to participate. The festival, less than a half hour from the Loganville and Grayson areas, begins at 10 a.m. (News-Daily.com)
- During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, many teachers and students were forced to turn to online teaching environments. The number of people entering and staying in the teaching profession decreased drastically and hasn't increased much since. The School of Education at Georgia Gwinnett College launched a fellowship program this year to help change that. Undergraduates enrolled in this fellowship have the opportunity to teach in classrooms across Gwinnett County for an entire year. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- The Gwinnett County Police Department calls on community members to help find a woman who reportedly disappeared from a shopping center. According to police, Jae Soon Chun has dementia and was last seen walking away from The Assi Plaza Shopping Center in Suwanee at 6:15 p.m. She was last seen wearing metal frame glasses, white pants, and a green t-shirt. - Students at nearby Lovin Elementary School had the opportunity to play and interact with animals right at school this past week. The Georgia branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) brought the USDA's Urban Agriculture Initiative to Lovin Elementary to give students hands-on experience in caring for animals. These programs were created to benefit students in urban areas who may not be accustomed to farm life. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- Police are investigating the death of a woman found dead near a construction site on Stone Mountain Highway. She was found at the construction site near E. Park Place Blvd just after 7 p.m. this weekend. Police report that the woman was shot and that investigators have a person of interest. (WSB-TV2)

- The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office reminds you that October is both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. They have continued the tradition of transforming their logo to pink and purple in honor of the victims and survivors.
