Here are the top five stories today in Loganville-Grayson:
- Yesterday, Oct. 31, two students got into a fight at Grayson High School that led to one of them being injured with a box cutter. The student was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Grayson High School principal Dana Pugh wrote a letter to parents stating that "both students will face appropriate disciplinary consequences for fighting, and the student who used the box cutter will face criminal charges." (Loganville-Grayson Patch)
- On Saturday, Nov. 5, Gwinnett County will collect recyclable items for America's Recycles Day. The county's Solid Waste Management department and Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful will sponsor the event, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. until noon at Coolray Field in nearby Lawrenceville. - Tomorrow, Nov. 2, at 7:00 p.m., Gwinnett County officials will host a community forum to address the recent violence in Gwinnett schools. The "Code Red" meeting will take place at New Mercies Church in Lilburn. According to Gwinnett County Commission Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, the meeting will bring community members together to discuss a "[holistic] approach to violence" and develop "one unified voice with a clear message."
