  1. Early Friday morning, Oct. 21, at 2:29 a.m., a firefighter from Walton County Fire Rescue received minor injuries in a house fire at 4285 Eddie Byrd Lane in Loganville. The WCFR and Loganville Fire Department worked together to put out the fire. City of Loganville spokesman Robbie Schwartz said the fire reportedly originated in a vehicle in the driveway and then spread to the house. The fire is under investigation. (Monroe Local)
  2. The emergency call center in Gwinnett County has a new geo-location app called "What 3 Words," which helps locate callers that are not at specific mailing addresses. The app is available on any smartphone or can be accessed through their website. It has divided the world into three-meter squares, which have a unique combination of three words. Someone who needs emergency services at a park or around Lake Lanier can say the three unique words to emergency services. (11 Alive)
  3. Multiple schools in Gwinnett County were locked down on Friday, Oct. 21, after a weapon may have been fired at nearby Shiloh High School in Snellville. Shiloh High School Principal Danyel Dollard said, "No one was hurt, and all school buses had left campus before the incident took place." Gwinnett County police said the suspect left the area and the county police will assist Gwinnett County Public Schools police with the investigation. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
