How Did Your Legislators Vote on Gun Restrictions Bill?
HB 512 passes the Georgia House. It reportedly would allow guns in churches and unsecured government buildings. It now heads to the Senate. All the representatives in the local area voted in support of the bill.
A Georgia bill that would loosen restrictions on where firearms could be carried is a step closer to law.
HB 512, also known as the Safe Carry Protection Act, passed the Georgia House on Thursday (March 7), by a vote of 117-56. It was the last day in the 2013 General Assembly session that the bill could "cross over" to the Senate.
The bill, among other things, would allow guns on college campuses, something the University System of Georgia has lobbied against.

Also, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, it would allow guns in churches, unsecured government buildings and courthouses, and would allow school boards to arm administrators in schools.

Rep. Tom Kirby, Brett Williamson and Brett Harrell voted for the bill. There are 10 days left in the legislative session, including Friday, for the Senate to act.
