According to the St. Baldrick's website, head-shaving events began as a challenge between businessmen with just one event in 2000 to 1,290 events in 2012. The purpose is to raise critical funds for childhood cancer research. These headshaving events take place in pubs, restaurants, schools, sports events, churches, parks, malls, military bases, firehouse and many more places. The head shaving is symbolic in solidarity with cancer patients who often lose hair during the treatment.

Come out and enjoy the event in Loganville this afternoon. Shave your head if you dare, but if not - enjoy the event and help raise funds at the same time.
