GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who kidnapped a woman and her child during a carjacking at a Duluth gas station.

The victim was parked at the Exxon station at 1350 Boggs Road the night of Aug. 18 when a man approached, apparently at random, and commandeered her car, according to a spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Police Department.

The man then reached for what the victim believes was a gun, punched her several times in the face and forced her into the back seat with her 1-year-old child.

Security video at the gas station shows the confrontation, as well as the car leaving the parking lot with two of its doors wide open.

As the man drove away with the victim and her baby, he demanded money from her, then threatened to choke and kill her, according to authorities. Fearing for her life, the victim grabbed her baby’s car seat with the child in it and jumped from the moving vehicle.
