  1. Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts has stepped down from Cognia Board of Directors. Watts joined the board in May and received backlash from parents who said it was a direct violation of his contract with the school system. Watts said he is stepping down "solely because of the distraction this particular professional opportunity has caused in our district." (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. A bilingual housing expo will be held at Central Gwinnett High School on Oct. 15 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Attendees will be able to learn more about financial assistance for home repairs, downpayment assistance, eviction solutions, and more.
