  1. A woman from Buford has died following a fatal pedestrian accident in the Loganville Walmart parking lot on Wednesday. Loganville Police Department officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle around 5:00 p.m. and reported 53-year-old Monica Boti had sustained "significant injuries" from the impact. The woman was transported to Piedmont Walton hospital where she was pronounced dead. (Monroe Local News)
  2. New safety procedures were in place as the Gwinnett County Fair opened on Thursday at the fairgrounds. The new measures include a heightened security presence, a "see-through" bag policy, and a chaperone requirement for visitors under 16 after 5:00 p.m. The annual fair will run through Sep. 25 and feature more than 55 rides, as well as a variety of food and game vendors.   3. Police say a Gwinnett County officer who struck and killed a moped driver last week was looking at his computer at the time of the deadly accident. The incident occurred last Friday around 5:45 a.m. when Officer Michael Brady rear-ended Dwayne Claffey, 34, on his way to work. Brady admitted to looking at his computer at the time of the crash and is currently out on bond from the Hall County jail. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. Are you a Star Trek fan? Join the Gwinnett County Public Library on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 8:00 p.m. for a live talk with series star William Shatner.   5. Tomorrow, Sep. 17, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Mental Health Task Force will partner with Guide to host a free Suicide Prevention Event. Attendees will have a chance to receive QPR suicide prevention training and Narcan overdose training. Stop by the Lucky Shoals Park Community Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to participate.
