4th GA Jail Escapee, Accused Of Murder, Arrested In Stockbridge

All four inmates who escaped on Oct. 16 from the Bibb County Detention Center have been returned to the jail, authorities said.

MACON, GA — The fourth and final Bibb County jail escapee, a murder suspect, is back in police custody after a monthlong manhunt, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.

Joey Fournier, 52, was arrested around noon Saturday near Stockbridge, authorities said, and returned to the Bibb County Detention Center around 4 p.m.

“We are grateful that this last escapee has been captured," Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said in a statement. "My heartfelt appreciation goes out to all of the hardworking law enforcement officers from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and from all of our partner agencies who worked tirelessly to bring these four fugitives back into custody.”

Fournier was being held on suspicion of murder. According to jail records, he is also being charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, felony escape and escape - aiding and abetting. He has no listed bonded amount.

His arrest was in partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County Police, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and Clayton County Police, authorities said.

Of the $73,000 total reward that is being offered for information leading to the inmates, the Bibb sheriff's office and the Marshals Service each offered up to $5,000 while the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers offered up to $2,000 for each inmate.

The FBI offered $10,000 for information leading to Fournier's capture, bringing the reward for his arrest up to $22,000.

Escapees Chavis Stokes, Johnifer Barnwell and Marc Kerry Anderson have been arrested. The men escaped on Oct. 16 through a damaged day room window and a cut fence.

Jakaylen Williams, 24, was identified as the driver of the getaway car and was arrested, authorities said.

Authorities previously said Christian Demond Williams, 23, was believed to have been involved in helping the men escape the detention center. Williams, who was reportedly kidnapped, died by suicide after a U.S. Marshals Service raid, authorities said.

Media outlet 13WMAZ reported Williams' girlfriend, Mykia Williams, was arrested during the raid and was charged on suspicion of four counts of aiding an escape.

Tymesha Ceiarra Timley, 32, was accused of hindering Anderson's capture, authorities said.

The Bibb sheriff's office and the FBI arrested Jacorshia Smith, 30, and Janecia Green, 30, in connection with Barnwell's escape.
