Here are the top three stories in Macon today:
- On Wednesday, May 10, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Brandon Johnson on Paul Street in Macon in connection to a fatal shooting. According to deputies, Johnson reportedly got into an argument with 35-year-old Ahmad Jarnell Harrell and then shot him. Harrell was pronounced dead at the scene inside a home in the 600 block of Paul Street.(13WMAZ.com)
- Macon Mayor Lester Miller and commissioners toured the progress of the new 12-thousand-seat amphitheater, which will be the second largest in the state of Georgia, and the upgraded mall. The construction should be done in "less than a year." Once the construction is done, Miller said Macon will no longer be just a place people drive through. (wgxa.tv)
- Mother's Day is almost here! There are several restaurants in Macon offering brunch options, specialty menus, and themed events this weekend. Miramar is hosting Mother's Day Brunch, The Juicy Crab will have a Mother's Day special, Blanche Farms Meats will have a Mother's Day box, and The Back Burner will have a Mother's Day menu.
