Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:

  1. The City of Marietta will be celebrating Park and Recreation Month in Glover Park on Thursday, July 14. The event will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will feature music, games, and family-friendly activities. Participants are reminded that the Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities is a vital part of our community. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. 184th Marietta Campmeeting will be from July 15 to July 24 at the Marietta Campground. The historic gathering was postponed in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns. The non-denominational Christian revival gathering will feature activities for all age groups, music, and ministry. (MDJOnline.com)
  3. Cobb County was included in the traffic fatalities report issued by the Georgia Department of Public Safety. In total, 21 fatalities occurred across the state during the Independence Day holiday period. The period was for 78-hours - Friday through Monday. Impaired driving was the leading contributing factor in the majority of fatalities. (Cobb County Courier)
