Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:
- The Cobb Board of Commissioners has accepted a $3.5 million opioid settlement from Rite Aid. The settlement was accepted through a 4-1 vote. The only opposing vote was by District 1 Commissioner Keli Gambrill. The pharmacy chain will not admit to any wrongdoing or liability during the settlement agreement. (Cobb County Courier)

- The Cobb Police Department is currently collecting donations for its Book Bag Palooza. Donations will be accepted through Jul. 30. Collected supplies will be given to students that need them. Donations will be accepted Monday through Friday at Precinct 1 through 5 and at the department's headquarters on S. Fairground Street. (East Cobb News)
