5 Cobb Schools Switch To Virtual Learning Through Friday
Five campuses in the Cobb County School District will be closed for in-person instruction for the rest of the week.
COBB COUNTY, GA — Five campuses in the Cobb County School District will learn remotely through Jan. 15, a district spokesperson told Patch Jan. 12.
Nickajack Elementary, Barber Middle, Lindley Middle, Hillgrove High and Clay Harmony Leland Elementary schools will switch to virtual learning through Friday, although a reason for this decision was not stated. Classes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 19 following the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, unless the district announces otherwise.
"As part of our ongoing commitment to student and staff safety and based on student, staff, and school needs, the District is making school-by-school closing decisions on an individual basis," the district spokesperson told Patch. "Despite social media posts to the contrary, the district is NOT transitioning to remote learning [for the entire district] and remains committed to face-to-face and remote classroom options for students and parents."
