Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:

  1. The Marietta City Council has approved a proposal that would increase limitations on adult establishments. The proposal was a direct response to a legal fight about the closure of Tokyo Valentino on Cobb Parkway. The new ordinance was approved through a unanimous vote. (MDJOnline.com)
  2. Democrat Catherine Pozniak has outraised her incumbent opponent in the Cobb Board of Education Post 4 campaign. She has raised $22,917 while her opponent David Chastain has raised only $8,018. According to Cobb Democratic activists, Pozniak's race is the most statistically competitive in the district. (MDJOnline.com)
  3. The Cobb County Public Library system has been providing eye exams and glasses for county children to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year. The program is through a partnership with Vision To Learn. The exams and glasses were provided free of charge. The 400 eye exams ultimately resulted in the distribution of 254 glasses. (Yahoo)
