  1. The Cobb County 2040 Comprehensive Plan 5-Year updated draft will be posted on Tuesday. The posting by Cobb County is for a mandatory public comment period. The period ends on Jul. 26. Click the following link for a timeline of the planning process. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. The Cobb Chamber is currently accepting applications for its annual D.C. lobbying trip. The chamber will be flying to Washington, D.C. Sept. 14 through Sept. 16.   3. The Marietta Police Department has recaptured the suspect that escaped on Friday morning. The suspect was arrested at a motel on Franklin Gateway. The department had previously asked the community to provide information about Ulysses Andre Roberson's whereabouts after he fled from the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. (Yahoo)

  • The Marietta Police Department is examining CDC data on drug overdose deaths. According to the data, the country experienced a 15 percent increase in overdose deaths last year. The department is reminding the community to call 911 for an emergency and Cobb County Community Services Board (Detox / Mental Health) at 404-794-4857 for addiction resources.
