Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. Students and families gathered in Marietta's Bells Ferry Plaza parking lot on Sunday to celebrate the last day of summer vacation. The event also featured the 6th Annual Back 2 School Giveaway which provided backpacks and school supplies to students. Inspired By Lewis hosted and sponsored the event. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. Applications for the Cobb County Youth Commission are being accepted through Aug. 18. To apply, county high school students must submit a reference from a community member.   3. Cobb County School District is focused on safety as the 2022-2023 school year begins. Josh Morreale will be overseeing the district's safety initiatives in his new role as assistant superintendent for school safety.
