  1. Marietta's former five-star prospect Arik Gilbert did not travel with Georgia on Saturday. He is a redshirt sophomore tight end who chose to not travel with the football team due to personal reasons. Freshman Oscar Delp replaced Gilbert as tight end during Saturday's game in Columbia, SC. Georgia beat the Gamecocks 48 to seven. (AJC.com)
  2. Cobb County's Tim Lee Senior Center will be offering a Basic Investing and Taxes course. The course is meant for residents over 55 years of age. The three-week course will be focusing on basic financial terminology, diversification methods, and tax rules. The course will be held on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. between Sep. 20 and Oct. 4.   3. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners will be hosting two meetings to consider and vote on a proposed resolution. The meetings will be held on Oct. 11 at 9:00 a.m. and Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the resolution is to allow the county governing authorities to amend local laws where home rule authority is preempted.
