C-5M Super Galaxy Delivery

The eleventh C-5M Super Galaxy departed for Dover Air Force Base, Del. from Lockheed Martin facilities in Marietta on June 21.

The aircraft was flown to Delaware by Maj. Gen. Craig Neil Gourley, vice commander of the Air Force Reserve Command at Robins Air Force Base, Ga.

The C-5M is the only true strategic airlifter capable of offering the globe in one flight, unrefueled, according to Lockheed Martin. A total of 52 Super Galaxy aircraft are scheduled to be delivered to the Air Force by 2017.
