  1. Cobb County Commissioner Monique Sheffield will be fielding questions at a forum regarding the Mableton city incorporation ballot issue. The forum will be on Aug. 17 in Austell at the Cobb County Police Academy at 6:30 p.m. The referendum will be on county ballots this November. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. The reward for information on an ongoing murder investigation has been increased. The reward is now $10,000 for information related to the shooting of Grayson Green, 17, during a Marietta graduation party. The shooting occurred on May 21 during a party that included roughly 200 kids. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marietta Police Department. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. Cobb Animal Services has reopened the animal shelter. The facility has been closed since Jul. 22 in response to a confirmed case of strep zoo. To celebrate the reopening, the shelter will be reducing adoption fees for some animals. All dogs over 25 pounds will be available for $25. All cats and kittens will also be $25. (East Cobb News)
