Don't Toss That Tree, Recycle It
Cobb County offering drop-off points for residents to dispose of holiday ferns.

MARIETTA, GA -- As the holidays wrap up, you may be thinking of getting rid of that Christmas tree. If so, Cobb County has several places that residents can take trees to be recycled. That's right, Christmas trees can be recycled to make mulch, animal habitats and other things.
Certain Home Depot stores in Cobb County will be accepting trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. The participating Home Depot locations are as follows:
- 3355 Cobb Parkway, Acworth
- 1200 East-West Connector, Austell
- 2350 Dallas Highway, Marietta
- 4101 Roswell Road NE, Marietta
- 449 Roberts Court NW, Kennesaw
- 3605 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta
- 1062 Richard Sailors Parkway, Powder Springs
- 1655 Shiloh Road, Kennesaw
- 2450 Cumberland Parkway, SE Atlanta
The Keep Cobb Beautiful staff is operating free recycling drop-offs for the holidays. Christmas trees also can be taken to the following Cobb County Parks and Recreation locations through Jan. 15:

- Noonday Creek Park, 489 Hawkins Store Road, Kennesaw
- Sewell Park, 2085 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta

After Jan. 9, free mulch will be available for Cobb residents, according to Keep Cobb Beautiful.
