- Some Marietta parents are sending their children to school with bulletproof backpacks. The added protection is in direct response to recent school shootings that have occurred throughout the country. Marietta's TruPrep Emergency Preparedness is selling the bulletproof backpacks. They will reportedly stop a small pistol round. (CBS46)
- Marietta City Schools are part of a pilot program identifying and supporting students with dyslexia. Three other metro Atlanta school districts are piloting the program. This is the last school year for the testing before a state mandate goes into effect. (11 Alive)
- The City of Marietta has drafted its Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report for the previous Federal Fiscal Year. The city must create a report to comply with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations. The report analyses the city's ability to meet goals and objectives that were identified in the 2018-2022 Consolidated Plan and PY2021 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant program.
