Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- Wellstar Cobb Medical Center has been honored for excellence in spiritual care. This is the third time that the medical center has been honored with the award. The HealthCare Chaplaincy Network presents the award for a center that addresses patients' spiritual needs through best practices. (MDJOnline.com)
- A Marietta hit-and-run victim died after being hit 10 days ago. The suspect in the investigation has been re-arrested with charges upgraded. Robert Morrison was hit on Jun. 18 while standing in front of his Marietta home. He was being treated at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital before succumbing to his serious injuries. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The Cobb County Police Department has requested a replacement for its records management system. According to the Cobb County Chief of Police Stuart VanHoozer, the current records management system is about 16 years old, outdated, and riddled with issues. The current vendor is also unable to upgrade the system. The cost of a replacement has not yet been determined. (Cobb County Courier)
