Float's Hope: Wellstar Has Powerful Message In Rose Bowl Parade

Health System teams up with LifeLink of Georgia to promote organ donations.

MARIETTA, GA -- The new year is going to be a rosy one for fans of one Cobb County medical community. The WellStar Health System is going to be front and center during the Rose Bowl Parade on Jan. 2.

Wellstar partnered with LifeLink of Georgia on the Donate Life Rose Parade float. It is titled "Teammates in Life" and aims to spread the message that organ, eye and tissue donation saves lives.

The float will feature thousands of handwritten messages of organ donors around the United States.

“WellStar is committed to being there for the needs of our community," Dan Woods, president of WellStar Kennestone Hospital, said in a news release. “We want to share the importance of organ donation and the message that organ donations are gifts of life that keep families together.”

The Rose Bowl Parade, technically known as the Tournament of Roses Parade, will be Jan. 2 in Pasadena, California and start at 11 a.m. ET. The Rose Bowl Game features USC vs. Penn State.
