Marietta Fourth Of July 2017 Fireworks, Parade, Carnival, Weather Forecast

Marietta has a slew of events planned for Independence Day as the city hosts 2017 Fourth in the Park.

MARIETTA, GA -- The city of Marietta is inviting the public to its Independence Day celebration called "2017 Fourth in the Park" on Tuesday, July 4, starting at 10 a.m. The event will feature arts and crafts, carnival, free live concerts and entertainment, museum tours, food, games -- and of course, fireworks.

The weather on the Fourth will be nice and hot: 91 degrees with a 20 percent chance of rain. By the evening, temps will fall to a pleasant 72 degrees and the rain should move out by 7 p.m., just in time for the fireworks.

The festivities will begin with the Marietta Freedom Parade featuring local bands, beauty pageant queens, scouts and civic groups (the route starts at Roswell Street Baptist Church) going west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park, down Cherokee Street, and ends at North Marietta Parkway.

The arts and crafts show will feature nearly 100 different vendors showing off their wares. Also, there will be a Kids Zone with an interactive play area from 10 a.m. to dark; tickets for an assortment of games will be available at booths located throughout the park. Fireworks will begin about 9:30 a.m.

The parade features marching units from local bands, civic organizations, beauty pageant queens, scouts, local businesses of all types, and much more. After the parade there will be free live concerts and entertainment, museum tours, food, arts and crafts, carnival games, and of course fireworks.
